The Sirocco jumpsuit from Deer&Doe

Fresh from the success of the baby jumpsuit, I had jumpsuit envy. Then, I came across this Deer & Doe pattern and I couldn’t resist an adult version. I used one of the fabrics recommended on the Deer&Doe blog, which has a lot of stretch, is very soft, and is pretty lightweight - if I did it again I might go a little heavier. Sewing had some new challenges because of the 60% stretch (there’s no zip), hand sewing was obviously out for something of this size, and I still didn’t have a walking foot. So I did spend quite a lot of time unpicking stitches down the legs trying to get the fit just right, but I’m happy with the end result and I’m looking forward to Summer coming back around so that I can wear it more.

Wear: I wore this to a friend’s house for dinner and nobody batted an eyelid, which is my idea of a great success - I like a sneaky wear of a homemade garment. Also worn during a holiday in Florence, where it offered good mosquito coverage whilst still being cool.
