Dungarees

My first excursion into shorts and pockets

I was looking for some shorts dungarees for the Summer and liked this pattern because it has a few variations: I would use it again, to make just shorts or maybe silk trouser overalls. Having never made either shorts or trousers before I made a toile for these dungarees first to make sure the fit was right, just in case body length was problematic. The actual fabric was from Skipper Stoffer and is Prada, would you believe. It was difficult to find buckles of the right size and I ended up on Etsy, where I also got a lifetime supply of rivets. But, during my subsequent leather making I found a shop called Skindhuset, which has everything that I would have needed, and more.

Wear: I love these dungarees. They’ve been worn to go hiking, and to visit a pineapple farm.
